How it works

Three taps from here to there.

Pick a tier, lock the fare, and decide whether to settle now or roll it onto your weekly tab. The math is done before the door closes.

Why Tab

Better for riders. Honest with drivers.

Surge pricing was a tax on bad weather. Hidden fees were a tax on trust. We took both off the bill.

Upfront pricing

The price you see is the price you pay.

No surge multipliers when it rains. No estimate that magically grows by the time you arrive.

I haven't checked my old rideshare app in a month. The weekly tab is the first thing about getting around that's gotten better since 2014.

Frequently asked

The obvious questions.

How is Tab different from the other rideshare apps?+

Three things. Fares are locked upfront with no surge. You can run a weekly tab and settle one bill on Friday instead of checking out per ride. And drivers keep 75¢ of every dollar — they earn more, you wait less, and the car shows up cleaner.

Where is Tab available?+

San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose right now. New York, Los Angeles, and Seattle are next, in that order. Drop your zip in the app to get notified when we land in your city.

Do I have to use the weekly tab?+

No. Pay per ride if you want — Apple Pay, debit card, anything you'd use anywhere else. The tab is opt-in for people who'd rather settle one clean bill instead of a hundred tiny ones.

Is there ever surge pricing?+

No. The fare you see is the fare you pay. If demand spikes, drivers earn a Tab-funded bonus — riders never see it on the bill.

How do I become a Tab driver?+

Tap "Drive with Tab" in the app or our header. Onboarding takes about 30 minutes if your paperwork is in order. You'll see your guaranteed earnings before you sign.

What if my ride takes a longer route?+

You don't pay for it. The fare is locked when you book. Detours, traffic, and bad navigation are on us, not you.
